Lexus LS Sedan Facelift

Finally Lexus decided to offer all the official details and pictures of their new 2013 LS sedan series. The redesigned model was revealed yesterday in San Francisco during a special event. The new sedan has as base the fourth-generation model that has been built since 2006. It has a very dynamic exterior look and an improved interior that keep away competitors like the Audi A8, BMW 7-Series and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class. The 2013 model year line-up includes four variants: the LS 460, LS 460L, LS 600hL hybrid and the LS 460 F Sport variant. The first two are available in RWD and AWD versions and the LS Hybrid is available with a full-time AWD system. Its new exterior makes us think of the RX facelift and the GS. It looks great up front because of the new spindle grille and the redesigned headlamps, fender forms, hood and new headlamps.

The sides remain the same, but the carmaker modified its rear end offering darkened tail lamps with a chrome strip divider, a new bumper design and also a re-sculptured boot. The F Sport comes with a body kit that offers a new bumper that features bigger side air vents, a front grille and side skirts. The model runs on 19-inch alloy wheels. The 2013 Lexus LS is available with two power-trains. The first one is a 4.6-liter V8 engine capable of developing 386 horsepower and 367 lb. ft. of torque with the RWD models and 360 horsepower and 347 lb. ft. of torque with the AWD versions. The RWD LS 460 is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 5.4 seconds and of reaching a top speed of 130 mph.

The LS600h L is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 petrol engine capable of developing 438 horsepower which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 5.5 seconds and to reach a limited top speed of 130 mph. The LS 460 F Sport remains the same concerning the engine compartment. More information will be revealed by Lexus soon.
