British carmaker McLaren has presented an updated version of the new 12C GT3 for all its fans and to compete in the 2013 season. Apparently the model will be available for global competition and for all GT3 championships. Last year, the car managed to participate in 98 race events and obtained 19 victories and a further 19 podium finishes for the 13 McLaren GT customer teams. So that you know, the McLaren 12C GT3 is now available to all GT teams globally and for the first time, also collectors and non-race users.
The 2013 model features several modifications, all of which are available as a package to existing car owners. All are designed to offer improved drivability, reliability and efficiency and last, but not least reduced complexity. Some of the changes include a revised aerodynamics package, an upgraded ECU with a revised electrical system and, of course, alternative dampers. The British engineers have also offers an updated cooling system designed to optimize performance of the car in very different conditions met during the global championships. We have mentioned the improved aerodynamic package above and so please know that it will further improve the balance and tire management of the new 2013 McLaren 12C GT3. The starting price was established at GBP325.000 and it can be used in all FIA GT3-based race series.
The model receives power from a 3.8-liter V8 twin turbo McLaren M838T and has McLaren Electronics ECU interfacing with Bosch ABS and Shiftec transmission control units. To transfer the output to the wheels, the specialists have provided a 6-speed sequential motorsport transmission pneumatically actuated via steering wheel mounted paddles. To handle the extra power, the model features now Akebono mono block calipers with ventilated discs and Bosch motorsport ABS. the model is currently available for order.
