Mercedes SL65 AMG

Good news for the ones that ordered their very own Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. Apparently, the German carmaker will start deliveries this week. For the ones that do not know yet, the new model is powered by a 6.0-liter bi-turbo AMG V12 engine capable of developing 621 horsepower and 737 lb. ft. of torque, which has been electronically limited. To transfer all the output to the wheels, the engineers have offered a new AMG Speedshift Plus 7G-Tronic transmission which is available with 4 driver-selectable modes.

The first one is Efficiency, followed by Sport, Sport plus and last, but not least, Manual. The output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.0 seconds and it can reach an electronically limited top speed of 155 mph. In comparison with its predecessor, the 2013 version is 17 % more fuel efficient as it only needs 20.2 mpg US. The new Mercedes SL65 AMG is more economical thanks to the new lightweight construction which has reduced the curb weight by up to 170 kg.

The clients interested in knowing everything about the new German Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG, should know that the carmaker is offering optional extras for the car. Here we have to mention the high performance ceramic composite brakes, to handle the extra power, carbon fiber package, AMG Performance Media with telemetry function and red brake calipers. Particular highlights include the electrically adjustable AMG sports seats with single or two-tone upholstery in Exclusive Nappa leather and embossed AMG emblems on the seat backrests. The starting price for the German market was established at EUR 236.334. When it comes to the 45th anniversary edition, the Germans ask EUR272.034 per unit. This last one will be built as a limited edition and only 45 units will see the light of the day.
