Mercedes-Benz SLK 340 Race Car by Carlsson

The German tuner Carlsson has been displayed these days at Geneva Motor Show. The impressive Race Car is based on the SLK model and fits together innovative technologies and unique design. Mercedes intends to use the tuned model in international and national hill climb races in the E1 category.



This newcomer to motor sport has reduced the mass so significantly that it weights now just only 780 kilograms. To reach as low weight as possible the car was built scratch from the shell and it is also utilizing superlight carbon fiber body kit. A large rear wing, a front splitter, and massive diffuser optimize the aerodynamics and mates also with exclusive exterior look.



Carlsson Mercedes-Benz SLK 340 Race Car is powered by a 3.4-liter V8 engine that develops 610 hp and maximum torque of 430 Newton meters. A three-way adjustable KW competition suspension and Hewland transmission with a paddle-shift emphasize race track abilities.


Wrapped with AVON tires are the BBS racing wheels sizing 10×18 inches in the front and 13×18 inches in the rear. In order to save additional weight even the brake system is made of light materials.
