Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG electric drive

One automotive specialist has decided to drive the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series and share his experience with us. According to the driver, the models weighs 4.774 pounds which means it is almost 550 kg more than the SLS AMG GT. The difference comes from the lithium-ion battery composed of 12 modules of 72 cells. The model is capable of great output. The 400-volt, liquid-cooled, 60-kilo-watt-hour battery can produce up to 552 horsepower and 737 lb. ft. of torque. This output makes the model the most powerful AMG high-performance vehicle of all time. It enables it to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 155 miles per hour. Its range reaches 155 miles. Just for comparison, the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT receives power from a 6.2-liter V8 engine capable of generating 583 horsepower and 479 lb. ft. of torque which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 197 mph.

The AMG Drive Unit knob has the same place and is inscribed with its usual markings: C represents Controlled Efficiency, S, Sport and S+ stands for Sport plus. Just behind the AMG Drive Unit are the buttons for ignition and traction control and next on the list is the AMG Torque Dynamics button which has three settings for altering the cornering dynamics. Just behind the Torque Dynamics button is one of for AMG E-sound and the steering wheel is affixed with paddles which do not change the single gear. If you decide to lift the throttle at the max setting the car responds as if you were giving the brakes in a traditional car. The price in Germany was established at EUR416.500 which means around $544.000. These are all the information available on the model. Source: autoblog
