Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT

German carmaker Mercedes-Benz revealed an updated version of its halo supercar also known as the SLS AMG GT both body styles, two years after the SLS AMG Gullwing coupe went on sale. Only a few months ago, the carmaker introduced the Roadster models. The improvements on this new car refer mostly to the performance and handling. Under the hood it hides a 6.2-liter naturally aspirated V8 engine capable of developing extra 20 horsepower in comparison with the outgoing model capable of developing 583 horsepower. The torque output remains the same, so 650 Nm. All the power is being sent to the wheels through an AMG SPEEDSHIFT DCT 7-speed double-clutch gearbox. This new feature has newly developed gear change functions and the transmission control was optimized. In the end, the new SLS AMG GT is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 0.1 seconds and it can reach a speed of 200 km/h in 11.2 seconds. The top speed was electronically limited to 317 km/h. The feature list also contains a new AMG RIDE CONTROL performance suspension available with two settings: Sport and Sport Plus. All the power is being sent to the road through 19-inch 10-forged alloy wheels covered in 265/35 R 19 tires on the front axle and 20-inch rims with 295/30 R 20 tires on the rear. The carmaker also offers AMG alloy wheels as an option. In terms of visual modifications for the 2013 SLS AMG GT, the German carmaker offers red painted brake calipers, exterior mirrors, a new black gloss finish for the grille trim and a lot more. Also offered as an option, is an AMG designo Exclusive STYLE leather package available in different color combinations. The 2013 model will go on sale on the North American market sometime at the middle of November this year. It will replace the SLS AMG versions. The European customers will receive the model in October with a starting price of EUR204.680 for the SLS AMG GT and EUR213.010 for the SLS AMG GT Roadster.
