Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG GT

Germans from Mercedes-Benz revealed the new 2013 SLS AMG GT in Affalterbach. AMG managed to add extra 20 horsepower to the output, the model being now capable of developing 583 horsepower. The springs and dampers have a more rigid setup that complete the AMG Adaptive Performance Suspension. All the output is now being sent to the wheels through a 7-speed AMG dual-clutch transmission and tits 6.2-liter V8 engine also received different upgrades. The carmaker improved the exhaust system and its responses have been beefed up with throttle calibration changes and injection mapping upgrades. The model is capable of crossing a lap of the Nurburgring Nordschleife in 7.30 seconds. Acceleration is now 3.6 seconds for the hardtop GT versus the currently model that need 3.7 seconds. German Mercedes-AMG wanted to turn this model into a monster and managed to really do it.

The 3.573-pound car is going through a crucial part while going into through and out of curves, just because the handling, ride and gear play are not very flexible. The power is being transferred to the road through 265/35 ZR19 98Y wheels found on the front axle and 295/30 ZR20 101Y found on the rear one. Both are covered in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires. The carmaker offers the carbon ceramic brakes as an option that will cost you another $12.500. The Germans will start delivering the SLS AMG GT coupe and roadster in November for the North American customers. The prices might go up to $195.000 for the coupe version and up to $200.000 for the roadster. In the photo gallery you can see what we were talking about.
