Mitsubishi Outlander for Pikes Peak Hill Climb

A bit later this month, the Pikes Peak International Climb will start and especially for the occasion, Mitsubishi has prepared several safety vehicles to use. This is actually the 91st running of the event and will begin on June 30 this month. The carmaker has a lot of technologically-advanced safety elements including Lane departure Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control and also Forward Collision Mitigation. The competition will take place in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado and will feature a unique road course that is 12.42 miles in length with 156 corners, commencing at an elevation of 9.390 feet and finishing at 14.110 feet, which means around three miles above the sea level.

The first run took place on 1916 which makes the event the second oldest motor race in America after Indianapolis 500. Besides the incredible safety technology, the new 2014 model is also available with the outstanding Super All-Wheel Control all-wheel drive system that provides superior stability, control and traction. The model is perfect for harsh weather and road conditions that can change in an instant along this high-elevation route. The company will also serve as the Presenting Sponsor at the 2013 edition of the Pikes Peak International Hill climb. The Lancer Evolution high performance sports sedan will also join the dynamic new 2014 Mitsubishi Outlander crossover as a supplemental safety vehicle. The models have benne built for the race and receive support from AEM, BBS USA, Cobb Tuning, DC Sports, Kenwood USA Corporation and also Muellerized Suspension Tuning. This year, the carmaker will return to the event with an all-new, more powerful 100 % electric-powered prototype racing car called the MiEV Evolution II. The specialists will do a great job, for sure, but we will have to wait a bit for the final results.
