Nissan Altima Sedan

It seems that Japanese carmaker Nissan wanted to unveil its next generation Altima sedan before it official debut at the New York Auto Show that will take place this week. The model features a design inspired from the larger Maxima, but in terms of interior design, well, we can say it does not look as good as its predecessor. This generation still has the same wheelbase, but the difference is that it has a wider front and rear track. It will be offered with a choice of two engines, a 2.5-liter QQR25 4-cylinder capable of developing 182 horsepower and 180 lb. ft. of torque and a 3.5-liter V6 VQ35DE engine capable of developing 270 horsepower and 258 lb. ft. of torque. The output is being sent to the front wheels through a redesigned Xtronic CVT. Soon the Japanese carmaker will also add a hybrid version to the range that will combine a new 2.5-liter supercharged gasoline engine with a compact-size CVT package that includes a single electric motor and two clutches. The energy will be stored in a lithium-ion battery. The prices will vary between $21.500 for the 4-cylinder model and $30.080 for the V6 model.
