We have good news for the ones interested in the new kei cars developed by Nissan and Mitsubishi. Apparently a new generation will be available starting this next June. To be more precise we are talking about the Nissan DAYZ and DAYZ Highway STAR, but also about the Mitsubishi eK Wagon and eK Custom. The new model offer highly competitive attributes such as excellent fuel economy and comfortable roomy cabin.
The minicar models enabled Nissan and Mitsubishi to keep their separate brand identities, yet creative innovative and quite different designs for their respective minicar models. The eK Wagon and eK Custom model were named DAYZ and the standard s was reversed to become a z and it indicates a new way of looking at delivering value to owners. The Nissan DAYZ and DAYZ Highway STAR are all-new minicar offering dynamic design and quality interior space. Both companies, Nissan and Mitsubishi will continue to maximize the synergies generated through NKV to strengthen the competitiveness of their respective minicar business.
Apparently after the first wave of minicar models, the two carmakers are workin on the planning and development of a second minicar, a very tall wagon which is scheduled to go be on sale at the beginning of 2014. The two carmakers will also continue to achieve more power with their highly-competitive minicar lineups and reflect the power of both companies when it comes to product planning, development, purchase and also design. Just for information other very important kei cars sold in Japan include the Honda N-One, Subaru Stella, and Mazda Flairwagon and also we have to mention the Japanese Toyota Pixis Space. Unfortunately these are all the info available on the matter for the moment, but do not go very far as more are on their way soon.
