One car enthusiast spent one day finding out information on the 2013 Peugeot 208 GTi while at the wheel of one of these great models, and has decided to share them with us. According to him, the carmaker is now trying to connect the new 208 model with the 205 GTi, which is considered to be one of the best models ever developed in its class. The new model receives power from a 1.6-liter engine unlike the 205. The 208 GTi weighs 1.160 kg and so it is larger and also more powerful. The turbocharged THP engine is capable of generating 130 horsepower and 275 Nm of torque. The engineers had to redesign and reposition the intercooler so that the engine could fit under the much shorter hood. The driver also admits that the model does not look very menacing for the GTi car even if the front end has been redesigned.
The engineers have brought it closed to the ground, have offered a retuned chassis and a stiffer suspension. The cabin is small and the flat-bottomed steering wheel covered in perforated leather with a red racing strip is close to perfection and there are the heavy bolstered bucket seats that make the driving experience a comfortable one. To transfer the output, the engineers have used a 6-speed manual transmission, the dashboard is nicely appointed, and the specialists have also used a lot of high quality materials. The model was also equipped with an electronic stability control and it can be switched off completely. In this case, it is just the driver and the car and this is a common characteristic with the 205 GTi. These are all the details on the matter for now.
