RenaultSport Twingo by K-Tec Racing

Lately, the most important tuning companies have been trying to show off their skills by creating tuning kits for supercars of some of the most expensive brands on the market, starting with Lamborghini, continuing with Mercedes and why not also add the BMW, probably the most upgraded brand at the moment. Well, surprise comes from K-Tec Racing, a U.K. tuning firm that has set eyes on the Renaultsport Twingo.

Responding to road test observations that the Renaultsport Twingo 133’s excellent chassis could benefit from more power, the tuning specialist K-Tec Racing has created a performance tuning package that is destined to meet the needs of the fast road and trackday enthusiast driver market. The vehicle was released in 2008 with a naturally-aspirated 1.6-liter engine outputting 131 bhp (98 kW) and 160 Nm (118 lb-ft) of torque. K-Tec believed that the car can release more power and increased figures to 163 bhp (121 kW) and 192 Nm (142 lb-ft). All these have done through a high-performance tubular exhaust manifold and system, remapped ECU and Cat Cams Stage 1 cams.

The upgraded Renaultsport Twingo is supposed to sprint from stand point to 60 mph (96 km/h) in less than the 8.7 seconds of the standard model. The maximum speed should be higher than the 125 mph (201 km/h) from the regular model. All the persons who wish to own a faster Twingo have to take out from their pockets 2,650 GBP. There is a one year warranty and the kit can be divided and sold like individual components, too.
