Home of Rolls-Royce Collection

Rolls-Royce celebrates 10 year of production at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, England. The carmaker has developed a special edition to mark this chapter in their life by releasing a special collection of Ghost and Phantom models. The new collection celebrates the design, but also the engineering and craftsmanship employed in the production every car built here. It also proves that uniqueness of the every car handled at this center of manufacturing. All combine a perfect blend of traditional crafts, cutting-edge technology and world-class bespoke design. We have to admit that this is the perfect way to commemorate 10 years of activity. The specialists have offered a celebration motif, presented in hand-crafted marquetry on the front fascia marking this special year in the history of Rolls-Royce. They have used different methods akin to the artistry of fine furniture makers getting a combination between cutting-edge technologies with traditional craftsmanship. Peaces separately, made of wood veneer, are laser-cut to ensure precision. There has been a craftsperson that painstakingly assembled the sections, ensuring they perfectly express the vision of the bespoke design team. The quality control uses the human eye as a tool. The pattern is embroidered into the armrests and console lid. There are 112.533 stitches applied making 1.000 individual stitches per minute. The Home of Rolls-Royce Collection cars are now being hand-built at Goodwood.

In the process, specialists have used 450 individual leather pieces, 672 meters of thread in every unit, and 11 individual varieties of wood-veneer, cut and hand-applied to celebrate motif, 58 layers to every Phantom wood part, 44.000 individual exterior paint colors to choose from and a lot more.  These are all the details available for the moment, but do not go very far.
