Seat Toledo

Only a couple of months ago, in June, Spanish carmaker Seat had offered a few images online, with their new 2013 Seat Toledo compact saloon. This will be the fourth generation and the ones interested will have the opportunity to see it for the first time at the Paris Motor Show. The specialists said, the new Toledo will be available for purchase in Spain and Portugal sometime in November. The rest of the European customers will have to wait until next year if they want to put their hand on the keys of the one 2013 Seat Toledo saloon.

Just for a better comprehension, the new model is closely related with the Skoda Rapid as the two cars share the body, the interior and also the mechanical hardware. The styling makes the difference as each model has unique front and rear ends. The bespoke interior trim, instrument panels and steering wheels are also different. The Toledo and the Rapid have another thing in common. They both have a very useful hatchback tailgate that opens at the same time with the rear window revealing the big luggage compartment that offers 550 liters of space. This capacity can be extended to 1.490 liters if the rear seats are folded. The new model combines utility, elegancy and quality in every aspect. It measures 4.480 mm in length and it has a 2.602 mm wheelbase.

In terms of engine, the carmaker offers the predictable units both petrol and diesel and so are the transmissions. The petrol range features a 1.2-liter turbocharged engine capable of developing 74 horsepower and also a 1.4-liter TSI turbocharged unit that has an output level of 121 horsepower. As standard, the engineers have offered a manual gearbox, but the most powerful engine will be mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch DSG gearbox that will send the power to the wheels. The diesel engine available is the 1.6-liter TDI capable of developing 103 horsepower. It will produce 89 horsepower starting next year.
