Skoda cars are exceptional because of the clever little touches they’ve got. The Czech manufacturer is a company that understands the small everyday challenges of life and a brand that makes competition between carmakers more interesting as it always comes up with new models or at least brings some updates to the older ones. The same update process happens to the 2013 Skoda Octavia RS.
The third generation of 2013 Octavia RS version is probably one of the best Skoda models that the Mlada Boleslav plant ever produced. Barely introduced at the Goodwood Festival on 10th July, it is already being submitted to some modifications. A 2013 Octavia RS Liftback and a combi version have been spotted recently in the production country. Both of the models could be equipped with a 2.0-liter TSI engine which generates 220 HP (162 kW) or a 2.0-liter TDI mill outputting 184 HP (135 kW). As standard, these two types of engines are linked to a six-speed manual gearbox. However, a six-speed DSG one can be placed on the cars for some extra money. Both engines are borrowed from Volkswagen Golf VII.
Besides the engine configurations the 2013 Skoda Rs models borrow some other elements from Golf VII. Both of them have a lowered body to increase aerodynamics, a sports suspension, a set of either 17 inch alloys or 19 inch ones, an electronic stability control system incorporated into the electronic differential lock. The inside is upgraded, too. The cars possess a new instrument panel, some new sports seats, a leather sports steering wheel, stainless steel sill plates and pedals, and of course the RS badging. In addition, the clients can order KESSY Keyless-Entry-Start-and-Exit-System, electric panoramic sunroof, Adaptive Cruise Assistant and the list can continue with ‘Simply Clever’ solutions for ‘Simply Clever’ persons.
