It seems that Bluebird will launch the DC50 Sports car and Bluebird GTL Formula E at the Sustainable MOTOEXPO that will take place on the 28th of September 2013. The Bluebird name is synonymous with the innovative technology and record-breaking. At the event, the carmaker will launch its Bluebird DC50 electric sports car which, according to the carmaker will be produced as a limited edition of only 50 Bluebird electric vehicles. These will be built to commemorate the 50th anniversary in 2014 of Donald Campbell’s land and water speed records which most of you know about.
The two-door coupe has an engine capable of generating 360 BHP and it has a range of around 200 miles. Of course, this number might vary depending on specifications. The only color available will be Bluebird blue. At the same time, the carmaker will also launch the Bluebird GTL electric race car which has been designed to the latest technical regulations for the forthcoming FIA Formula E series and for the all electric global race series scheduled to start in 2014. Wales will also participate in a land speed debate on Saturday the 28th of September called Discover the quest for speed and the desire of the man to be the fastest person on land. The National Motor Museum contains more than 250 automobiles and motorcycles from the dawn of motoring to the present day.
The event will feature a 600 m circuit with live electric vehicle demonstrations. There will also be a program of seminars and debates about all aspects of e-motor sport and of the development of low carbon and EVs as city transportation. We will have more details at a later date, probably closer to the beginning of the event.
