Tata Motors is the most important automobile manufacturer in India. It is the leader in commercial vehicles in each segment, and among the top in passenger vehicles with winning products in the compact, midsize car and utility vehicle segments. It is also the world's fourth largest truck and bus manufacturer. The company’s mission is to be passionate in anticipating and providing the best vehicles and experiences that excite their customers globally. And this is how they have just presented their Tata Tuff Truck Concept.
The Tata Tuff Truck Concept has been revealed on the occasion of the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show that takes place in Australia. This has not been chosen accidentally, as there is a quite tight connection between Tata Motors on one hand and the Australian from Fusion Automotive and Holden Special vehicles on the other hand. They have all gathered forces to design and create this concept truck based on the Xenon model. The vehicle rides on a set of 20 inch billet aluminum alloy wheels that are wrapped in off-road rubbers to face extreme situations each time it is required. The concept car is distinguished by an aggressive front bumper with LED daytime running lights, a winch, toe hooks, a LED light bar and a snorkel.
There is no information about the engine powering the Tata Tuff Truck Concept. However, we are right to believe that it could borrow the engine configuration from the Xenon model. That is a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine that generates 150 HP (110 kW) and 320 Nm (236 lb-ft) of torque. This works mated to a five-speed manual transmission and a shift-on-the-fly four-wheel drive system. Tuff truck embraces every aspect of the original Xenon’s bold and muscular design and takes it to the next level with 4X4 flair. If the concept materializes, the future car will be perfectly suitable for the Australians’ love of nature and outdoor activities.
