Japanese specialists from Toyota have big plans fro their new iQ EV. The model is perfect for city use thanks to its 13.5 foot turning radius and its 78-inch wheelbase. It has the capacity to seat four adults and it can reach speeds of up to 78 mph. The new Toyota iQ Electric Vehicle receives power from an electric motor capable of producing 47 kW and from a 12 kWh battery. Together offer a range of up to 50 miles. To recharge the battery it only takes three hours using a Level 2, 240V charger.
The new Toyota iQ EV is available with three driving modes: D, B and S. each of these modes emphasize a different aspect of the car. For example, D minimizes the use of power while driving in the city. In the S mode the model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 13.4 seconds, so it improves acceleration. Finally, we have the B mode, which help the regenerative brakes improve their efficiency. The specialists offer two exterior colors for the new Toyota Scion iQ Electric Vehicle: Super Red and Silver and it features a wide rear bumper that offers a strong stance. On the inside, the new model features a black and white color scheme with metallic and ice-blue accents.
In terms of technology, the Japanese model features an HDD navigation system and an exclusive AVN unit with several EV driving support features. When it comes to safety, know that the carmaker is offering 11 Supplemental Restraint System airbags including knee, side, front and rear curtain, seat cushion, but also a rear window curtain airbag. To disperse the impact of a collision to the tires, the front ones have been moved forward. This way the impact to the cabin is being reduced. The production of the new model started last month.
