Toyota Auris Touring Sports

We have now fresh information on the new Japanese models, the Toyota Auris Touring Sports. This model is actually the first model in its class that comes with a choice of full hybrid power train. The engineers are making further diversification of the Hybrid synergy Drive technology of the Japanese manufacturer. This new vehicle is the perfect combination between a dynamic design, functionality and flexible load space. We can find the hybrid battery located beneath the rear seats, but know that the luggage capacity and the load space will remain the same. The carmaker hopes the model will increase the European segment of the vehicle to more than 5% by 2014. This will actually be its first full year of sales. To be more precise, the new Toyota Auris Touring Sports is built only by Toyota Motor Manufacturing UK together with the Auris Hatchback and Avensis models in Derbyshire.

The new vehicle has a 2.600 mm wheelbase just like the hatchback version, but it is 285 mm longer overall. If the rear seats care found in the load area, the model measures 1.115 mm in length and 1.452 mm in width. These offer a capacity of 530 liters that can increase to 1.658 liters if the rear seats are folded. You should also know that the new Auris Touring Sports car shares the same front-end treatment as the hatch and it contains a lot of important elements borrowed from the Japanese design language.

The UK customers will have the opportunity to find on the their market models equipped with a 1.33-liter Dual VVT-I and 1.6-liter Valvematic petrol unit, but also with the 1.4-liter D-4D diesel and full hybrid. The Synergy Drive system of the full hybrid comes with a 1.8-liter VVT-I petrol engine and an electric motor and it is capable of generating 134 BHP. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 10.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 112 mph.
