Not long ago we have received several photos of the new Toyota Corolla sedan developed for the European market and not only. Now, after that release, the carmaker has decided to offer us more insights on their new compact saloon model. so that you know, the 11th generation of the Corolla comes with a bigger interior which has been designed especially for the rear passengers. This was possible thanks to the 100 mm longer wheelbase in comparison to the previous mode. The new model measures 4.620 mm in length, 1.775 mm in width and 1.465 mm in height.
In the end we have realized that it is 80 mm longer, 15 mm wider and 5 mm lower in comparison to the previous model. In terms of engine, the European will receive a range of one diesel and four gasoline units. There is a 1.4-liter D-4D turbo diesel capable of generating 89 horsepower and 205 Nm of torque. To transfer all the output to the road, the engineers have offered as standard a 6-speed manual transmission. When it comes to the fuel consumption, the corolla reaches 3.8 liters per 100 km and emits 99 g of CO2 per km. This is not all in terms of technology. The engineers have also offered the engine available with a 6-speed MultiMode transmission and Stop and Start technology.
The entry-level gasoline unit is a 1.33-liter Dual VVT-I unit capable of producing 98 horsepower and 128 Nm of torque. The fuel economy reaches 5.6-liter per 100 km and to transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered a 6-speed manual transmission. Next on the list we have the 1.6-liter Dual VVT-I gasoline with 120 horsepower and 154 Nm of torque output. This one uses 6.6 liters of fuel per 100 km when equipped with the standard 6-speed manual and 6.3 liters when equipped with the Multidrive S CVT transmission. There is also a 1.6-liter Valvematic unit with 130 horsepower and 160 Nm of torque and a 1.8-liter Dual VVT-I capable of generating 138 horsepower and 173 Nm of torque.
