The 2013 Opel Insignia OPC is one of the stars of the moment in the auto field. It has just been released, although its official debut is planned for Frankfurt Motor Show that will take place in September. Well, Vauxhall, the British correspondent did a surprising move. They have just presented the first images with the facelift version of the Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport.
The Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport, as its relative, the 2013 Opel Insignia OPC, will go public in an official manner at the Frankfurt Auto event. The design remains relatively unchanged, except the updated bumpers and the modified headlights that offer the car a distinguishing look. What is brought new to the model is the updated dashboard, a modern infotainment system with a 8 inch touchscreen and a modified switchgear. The SuperSport is available, as usual, both as a hatchback and as a Sports Tourer. The two versions feature an updated front and back, wearing VRX design elements.
The Vauxhall Insignia VXR SuperSport is powered by a turbocharged 2.8-liter V6 engine that produces 325 HP (239 kW) and 435 Nm (321 lb-ft) of torque. It is linked to a six-speed manual transmission and it sprints from 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds (6.1 seconds for Sports Tourer) before reaching a maximum speed of 170 mph (273 km/h). The engineers at Vauxhall have also upgraded the ESP software, the damper software and the NVH option. The car is priced at £29,749 for the Hatch and £31,049 for the Sports Tourer.
