Volkswagen Golf GTI Mk7

German carmaker Volkswagen has released more pictures of 7th-generation Golf GTI. This is the first time in history when comes with two power levels. First there is the standard 217 horsepower GTI model and then we have the GTI Performance with 227 horsepower output. This amount of power comes from a 2.0-liter turbocharged and direct injection engine which is part of the EA888 engine series and has a completely new cylinder head. The engine also comes with variable valve timing with dual camshaft adjustment and develops more torque. It can go up to 350 Nm up from 280 Nm. When it comes to the fuel consumption, the model is capable of registering 6 liters per 100 km thanks to the standard start-stop system. This actually represents an 18 % improvement in comparison to the previous model. The manual VW Golf GTI is capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds and to reach a top speed of 246 km/h. On the other hand, the manual GTI Performance is 0.1 seconds quicker to 100 km/h and it can reach a top speed of 250 km/h. this last version will come with a mechanical differential lock and a braking system with larger dimensions and internally-ventilated discs at all its wheels.

The German carmaker declared the fact that the new VW GTI will also come with progressive steering, ambience lighting and xenon headlights offered as standard, but also different safety systems like, for example, Driver Alert, Automatic Post-Collision Braking and XDS+ vehicle dynamic function. If you are interest in owning one of these models, please be advised that the carmaker will offer them in European dealerships starting next month and in June in the UK. The starting price has been established at EUR28.350 in Germany for the GTI and the GTI Performance will cost EUR29.475.
