The ones interested in owning of the of the 7th generation of the Volkswagen Golf can now get ready to order it as the carmaker has just opened the order books for it. We had the opportunity to see it for the first time at the Geneva International Motor Show, in March. It has also been presented during the North American International Auto Show. The carmaker revealed the UK prices for it and it turns out, it can start at GBP25.845 on the road. This means the new VW Golf Mk7 costs GBP195 more in comparison to the previous model.
So that you know, there are two editions available. The first one is the base GTI that receives power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine capable of generating 217 horsepower. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.5 seconds and to reach a top speed of 152 mph. The other version is the GTI Performance editions capable of producing 227 horsepower which enable the car to accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 6.2 seconds and to reach a top speed of 155 mph. to transfer all the output to the wheels, the engineers have provided a standard 6-speed manual transmission and an optional 6-speed DSG transmission. Both models have a Stop / Start system and the models are offered in two body styles.
The Performance package provides extra 10 horsepower and costs GBP980 more. To send the power developed by the engine to the road, the engineers have provided 18-inch alloy wheels covered in 225 45 r18 tires. As standard equipment, we have to offer 2Zone climate control, sports seats, a black roof liming, red ambiance lighting, iPod connectivity and so on. As optional, owners can opt for 19-inch alloy wheels as well.
