Volkswagen Golf VII GTD by ABT

When discussing about engine technology, aerodynamics, sports wheels, exhaust systems, suspension or brakes, ABT Sportsline is the perfect name to do the best job.  The German tuning car set eyes on the popular Volkswagen Golf VII GTD. The Volkswagen Golf VII GTD is the most powerful diesel vehicle in the brand’s fleet.

Still, ABT decides to come up with an upgrade pack for the Golf VII. So the 2.0-liter, 4-cylinder engine becomes more powerful than the one of the base model. Power increases from 184 HP (135 kW) to 210 HP (155 kW). Torque also increases from 380 Nm (280 lb-ft) to 430 Nm (317 lb-ft).The ground eater Golf VII has been equipped with a four tailpipe exhaust system and it now rides on some larger alloy wheels, sized 18 or 19 inch. The series model goes from stand point to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7.5 seconds and benefits of a six speed manual transmission. It can go up to a maximum speed of 143 mph (230 km/h). But these figures don’t hold true anymore for the upgraded pack. No details were offered about the new ones so either we wait or do a calculus to find out.

ABT Sportsline worked on the aerodynamics of the Volkswagen Golf VII GTD, too. The vehicle receives a new front spoiler, front grille and side skirts as well as a back spoiler, rear skirt and new headlight and mirror covers. Since 2013, VW Golf VII bears the designations of European “Car of the Year” and “World Car of the Year“. Having a high performance and low fuel consumption, this sporty Volkswagen is very efficient economically speaking. The goal of ABT tuning company was to make the diesel sportier than it usually is and to add a little bit of extra style. And they have succeeded.
