Volvo P1800 Concept Coupe

The 2013 edition of the Frankfurt Motor Show is getting closer and closer and so far, we had the opportunity to see several teaser photos and videos release by different carmakers. We will tell you several new things about the new designer chief Thomas Ingenlath who has been working really hard in developing the new model for the Swedish carmaker, Volvo. As you can see in the photo gallery, the new model is both elegant and dynamic, but its best feature, the one that makes it great is its styling that reminds us of the P1800 which was built between 1961 and 1973.

The model was designed to reflect the heritage of the company. The specialist used elements from the P1800 exterior and interior and this is why it looks retro. The interior of the new model looks great and makes us think into the future and to be really honest it is not that easy to imagine a production version which would be great. The main elements include several handcrafted features like the leather instrument panel and inlays made of naturally aged wood.

Under the hood, the specialist offered a 2.0-liter high-performance Drive-E petrol engine with a supercharger and turbo driving the front wheels. There is also an electric motor on the rear axle. All the parts together are capable of generating 400 horsepower and more than 600 Nm of torque. These are all the details available on the concept model for now, but we will have more as soon as the Frankfurt Motor Show will start, so do not go very far.
