Volvo designs and sells products and services that aim at high quality, safety and environmental care. Founded more than 80 years ago, a solid position and reputation worldwide has been built up step by step in time. Volvo’s Polestar division whose goal is to obtain as good as possible performance vehicles has just revealed the Volvo S60 Polestar.
The power resources of the Volvo S60 Polestar are given by an inline-six T6 2953cc engine able of producing 350 HP (257 kW) at 5,700 rpm and more than 500 Nm (369 lb-ft) between 2,800 rpm and 4,750 rpm. The engine works together with a 6 speed automatic transmission with launch control and a Polestar-tweaked Haldex four-wheel drive system. Other new elements are the intercooler, Borg Warner turbo and a full-flow stainless exhaust system with 3.5-inch tailpipes. Due to these elements, the vehicle reaches 62 mph in 4.9 seconds. It has an electronically limited peak speed of 155 mph (250 km/h).
With a great number of improved parts both on the inside and the outside, the Volvo S60 Polestar offers awesome handling, natural driving dynamics and of course the legendary Volvo comfort. Everything is based on elegance and simplicity, making the car the proud possessor of a unique design. It rides on a set of bespoke 19-inch wheels covered in Michelin Pilot Super Sport 235/40 R19 tires. Its aerodynamics increased because of the front splitter corners, rear spoiler and diffuser. Inside the cabin the car is equipped with a Polestar-specific gearshift knob, door trims, badges and plates on the steering wheel and door sills.
The first appearance of the Volvo S60 Polestar will be in Australia, being designed exclusively for the Australian market. Introduction of the Volvo S60 Polestar to further markets is under investigation pending the response of the Australian introduction.
