Volvo has announced a new model that will be released for the North American market, the new V60 Sportwagon. The specialists hope to obtain best-in-class performance and best-in-fuel economy. According to the carmaker, the model will reach North American shores at the beginning of next year, in January. The Swedish carmaker is well-known for the wagon it develops and this is why the Volvo V60 is not at all ordinary. The model is capable of offering incredible handling just like a dynamic sports sedan. Besides this, the model is also versatile for the ones in need of a wagon.

The bad news is that there are no news regarding prices and specifications, but the carmaker will take care of this. The engineers have decided to offer the V6 with front-drive power from the new Drive-E family and all-wheel drive. Under the hood, the vehicle will hide the engines from the current lineup. To be more precise, one of the Drive-E gasoline units will be offered with a 2.0-liter, turbocharged unit capable of generating 240 horsepower. The V60 range also includes a 5-cylinder turbocharged unit capable of producing 250 horsepower and this option is a 6-cylinder 3.0-liter turbocharged unit capable of producing 325 horsepower.

The lighter engines have lower fuel economy ranging between 13 to 26 % depending on the engine compared with. There are no details on fuel consumption, yet, by these will become available shortly. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered Advanced Quick Shift, transition optimization software to improve the speed of each gear change.
