German carmaker Audi has provided new info and photos of their new A3 Sedan, and of their high-performance version, the new S3 Sedan capable of generating 300 horsepower. According to the carmaker, the model will go on sale in the US only next year, but as 2015 models. The compact sedan measures 4.46 meters in length and the wheelbase measures 2.64 meters. It has 1.80 meters in width and 1.42 meters in height. In terms of truck capacity, know that it has 425 liters. There is nothing atypical when it comes to the design as the headlights are identical to the ones the A3 and Audi A3 Sportback have.
In Europe, the Sedan version will be available with three 4-cylinder engines. The first one is the 1.4-liter TFSI, the second is the 1.8-liter TFSI gasoline and last, but not least, we have the 2.0-liter TDI diesel. The first one is capable of generating 138 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.4 seconds and to reach a top speed of 217 km/h. The 1.8-liter delivers 177 horsepower and 250 Nm of torque. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds and to reach a top speed of 235 km/h. The fuel consumption reaches 5.6 liters per 100 km and the CO2 emission level reaches 129 g/km.
The 2.0-liter TDI develops 148 horsepower and 320 Nm of torque and according to the carmaker, this is the most economical engine in the Audi A3 sedan range using only 4.1 liters / 100 km. the CO2 emission level is 107 g/km. The output empowers the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.7 seconds and to reach a top speed of 220 km/h. To transfer the output to the wheels the engineers offer a manual 6-speed transmission or a dual-clutch S tronic, depending on the engine. The prices for the Audi A3 sedan will start at EUR25.000.
