Audi A8/S8 facelift

Germans from Audi have revealed the facelift version of the 2014 A8/S8 range. The engines are now more powerful and efficient, while new assistance systems and the innovative Matrix LED headlights provide an added level of composure. Under the hood, the A8 model comes with 3.0-liter TFSI with the normal wheelbase and all-wheel drive. The body is made out of aluminum almost entirely and it has an Audi Space Frame design. The dynamic design of the big sedan has become even more expressive as the hood of the engine and the grille and the front bumper are even more sculptured.

The German customer will get the model with LED headlights as standard. As optional there are headlights with Matrix LED technology. Additional elements include the new headlights, the intelligent cornering light, new-look daytime running lights and dynamic turn signals. The lighting system recognizes route data contained in the navigation system like curves and road classification. To transfer the output to the road, the engineers have offered 21-inch wheels. For the German market, the models will be available with two gasoline units and two diesel ones. We are talking about the supercharged 3.0-liter TFSI with 310 horsepower and the V8 twin-turbo 4.0-liter TFSI with 435 horsepower output.

There is also the 3.0-liter clean diesel with 258 horsepower and the 4.2-liter TDI diesel with 385 horsepower and 850 Nm of torque as output. To transfer the output to the wheels, the Audi A8 was equipped with a smooth-shifting, 8-speed Tiptronic which is electronically controlled and paired with Quattro permanent all-wheel drive. The new A8 is scheduled to arrive in German dealerships in November.
