In November of 2012, German carmaker Audi confirmed the information saying that it will offer four new diesel-powered models in the US this year. Now, we have the first one and to be more precise, we are talking about the 2014 Audi A8L TDI. According to the manufacturer the starting price per unit was established at $82.500.
With this model Audi has set new standards for luxury sedan in terms of interior and exterior design, performance, technology and efficiency. Under the hood it hides a 3.0-liter TDI clear diesel engine and the model is actually the first of four new TDI models to be introduced this year. The EPA estimations indicate 24 mpg in the city, 36 mpg on the highway and 28 mpg on a combined cycle. The new engine is capable of generating 240 horsepower and 406 lb. ft. of torque which enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mpg in 6.4 seconds.
If you are interested to know more, please note that the German manufacturer also offered different package options which we in fact optimized so that each customer is satisfied. The optimization was made taking into consideration that fact that each individual has different demands. First we have to mention the Premium Package which now consists of Audi side assist and pre sense rear, 22-way multi-contour comfort seats. The list actually continues with font seat ventilation with massage and full LED headlights. The 2014 A8L TDI is part of an expanding model line-up which includes the A8 3.0T, A8 4.0T, S8 4.0T and A8 W12. So that you know, this particular model will only be available in long-wheelbase version only.
