German carmaker, Audi will launch a new version of the R8 supercar in 2014 and it will be on the market sometime in 2015. The engine options will not modify and so it will be the same R8 V8 with a 4.2-liter engine that delivers 450 BHP and a 2014 R8 V10 that will receive power from a 5.2-liter engine that will be capable of delivering 550 BHP. All the power will be sent to the wheels through a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission. According to different sources, it seems that Audi will launch a revised version of the R8 GT in 2016 and it will be able to produce 580 BHP. Anyway, the 2014 R8 will keep the current AWD system, but its exterior design is a totally different one. Audi wants all its cars to be lighter than 1.500 kg and this is why it will equip the future R8 with different fuel saving technologies like a sailing function, brake energy recuperation and a start/stop system.
