When a German meets another German we get something extraordinary. And we are talking here about the tuning company mbDESIGN and the super famous brand Audi. The world of cars is one that is continuously changing. Car manufacturers become better as time passes, each wanting to be the best and their unique goal is to create the car that gets closer and closer to perfection. And this also holds true for the tuning companies, of course, being the case of mbDESIGN too, whose latest project is an aftermarket program for the Audi R8 V8 version.
Although the current Audi R8 is getting closer and closer to retirement, it still attracts its fans. mbDESIGN tries to refresh the vehicle with a new livery inspired by the F16 Arctic Aggressor fighter jet. The supercar is equipped with a GT coilover kit lowering the ride height and rides on a set of 20-inch alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlop Sport Maxx GT 235/20 ZR20 front and 305/25 ZR20 rear tires. The vehicle also received a carbon fiber front splitter, side skirts and side blades borrowed from the V10 variant. At the back it features an original R8 GT carbon rear panel and a customized carbon trunk cover. Other options include carbon mirror caps, carbon diffuser from SuperCar24 and carbon fiber inserts within the engine department.
The Audi R8 is powered by the V8 4.2-liter naturally aspirated engine which was upgraded in such a way that now it outputs 453 PS (333 kW) through a K&N air filter, updated engine software and a Capristo exhaust system made from stainless steel and equipped with electronic valve control. On the inside, the supercar gets an original GT carbon fiber package together with a Bang and Olufsen sound system and full Alcantara upholstery. Take a look at the oldie R8!
