Bentley Continental GT3-R

Bentley is, by all means, a name in the car industry associated with opulence and excess. Modesty is not one of their characteristics, especially because everything they do needs to be uncommon and the target is made of the upper class persons to whom luxury is a necessity. The car manufacturer from Crewe has just introduced the limited-run Bentley Continental GT3-R which is based on the track-only Continental GT3 and which receives more power placed into a lighter body.

The Bentley Continental GT3-R has lost about 100 kg (220 lbs) thanks to the rear seat removal and because of the manufacturer who equipped it with a titanium exhaust system and lightweight forged 21-inch alloy wheels shod in Pirelli rubbers. The same package has to offer more power than the regular version, packing the same twin-turbo V8 4.0-liter engine which has gained turbochargers with a higher boost and a new engine control software which have increased figures from 528 PS (389 kW) and 680 Nm (520 lb-ft) to 580 PS (426 kW) at 6,000 rpm and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) from 1,700 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via an eight-speed ZF automatic transmission featuring a torque vectoring system, a novelty for the brand.

The extra power and the less weight can mean only one thing: that we have a faster Bentley Continental GT3-R which can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 3.8 seconds.  Due to the gearbox's shorter gearing, the top speed is less, just 170 mph (273 km/h). The vehicle will come out as limited production, with 300 units to be manufactured. All of them will feature the same elements, a Glacier White paint with glossy carbon fiber contrasts on the headlamp bezels, bumpers strips and grille while the side profile will boast two-tone green graphics. This is it!
