Bentley will introduce a new model, the high-performance Continental GT and this will take place at the Goodwood Festival of Speed which will happen at the end of June. The model will come with a V8 4.0-liter twin-turbo engine capable of generating 521 BHP and 680 Nm of torque. This output will help the model accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in 4.5 seconds. This model might be released for the first time at the 2014 Paris Motor Show. Last year at the same event we had the possibility to see for the first time the track-only Continental GT3.
The future model is in fact capable of generating around 700 BHP. The entire power will be transferred to the rear wheels. The engineers have also managed to reduce the weight of the car by using carbon fiber in the construction of the body which came in very handy in the end. The new Continental was provided fine-tuning which could adopt the RS moniker. In order to make the car even lighter, the engineers have also provided a rear wing along with other tweaks and this will also make the car even more aerodynamic efficient.
At first the carmaker will only produce 30 units, but the bad news for the ones interested in it is that the units have already been sold to UK customers. It is quite impressive especially because the model was really officially presented to the public. We will have the opportunity to see it for the first time at the Goodwood Festival of Speed as previously mentioned. The event will take place in a couple of weeks.
