Alpina BMW D3 Bi-Turbo

As a car manufacturer in its own right since 1983, Alpina has partnered with BMW on and off the racing circuit for more than 40 years, collaborating on technological development and producing a steady stream of groundbreaking innovations which are reflected in their automobiles. The BMW Alpina range is like no other, combining luxury and understated exclusivity with exceptional power and ability. Combining the Alpina philosophy and engineering with the benefits of BMW engine technology, the result is amazing. The company has just revealed the UK pricing for the BMW 3-Series-based D3 Bi-Turbo.

The BMW 3-Series-based D3 Bi-Turbo has been introduced at the Frankfurt Motor Show. The vehicle is powered by a six-cylinder, 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel which generates 350 bhp (257 kW) and a maximum torque of 516 lb-ft (700 Nm). To get these figures, Alpina equipped the vehicle with a bigger intercooler, optimizing the air intake, with a stainless steel sports exhaust system and an exhaust manifold. The engine is linked to a modified 8-speed automatic gearbox and the car can reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds before reaching a top speed of 172 mph (278 km/h). The correct sum for the sedan version is 46,950 GBP and for the estate variant is 49,950 GBP.

The BMW Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo is equipped with all kinds of goodies. It features an Adaptive M Sport Suspension, leather upholstery, bi-xenon headlights, climate control and electrically-adjustable heated sport seats. Other things worth mentioning are the luxury carpet overmats, a few Alpina logos on the door sills and seat backs, the Alpina Blue instruments and a Lavalina hand-stitched leather-wrapped steering wheel. The vehicle rides on the special Alpina 19-inch multi-spoke alloy wheels. The vehicle is a true masterpiece and anyone will be proud to own it.
