BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo

The 2014 BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo was launched and together with it a lot of doubts and questions appeared. The German carmaker insisted to equip the model with a lot of packaging trying to associate it with the 5 Gran Turismo. The Chinese customers were very impressed with it and for sure all BMW major markets will share this feeling. So that you know, the new model uses as base the long-wheelbase 3 Series chassis that was actually developed for the Chinese market. Inside it has 3.2-inches headroom and a more comfortable 2.3-inches seat position front and back. The chassis is one inch higher than the rest of the 3 Series family. The Germans will launch their new 2014 3 Series GT in the US in September. The starting price was established at $38.500 for the 328i GT and at $45.500 for the 335i GT. The precise price will be announced closer to the time of deliveries. Customers will also have the opportunity to choose the M Sport Package priced at $3.200 which will increase the price to around $60.000.

The BMW 335i receives power from an N55 Twin Power Turbo 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder capable of generating 302 horsepower and 295 lb. ft. of torque. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in around 5.2 seconds. To transfer the output to the wheels, the engineers have offered the same S+ for the 8-speed Sport automatic transmission also available in the Sport and M Sport line. The model used for tests used 19-inch Continental ContiSport Contact SSR treads. The engineers have also developed a dobbed Air Breathers. At the front we can see something called Air Curtain which actually helps air flow through the lower side intakes in front and cools the brake discs. The Air Breathers let the air flow out of the wheel, preventing excessive swirl, but in the same time they improve aerodynamics.
