BMW is one of those names in the auto field that are keen on becoming global brands. And once they get into a market they do even the impossible to stay there and to attract as many clients as possible. For this to happen, they need to keep the fans’ interest raised. This is why they are currently showcasing in Detroit the BMW M235i, which is a sporty version of the 2-Series range.
The BMW M235i is the range topping model in its series. It is priced at 44,025 USD on the U.S. continent. The coupe is powered by an inline-six TwinPower Turbo 3.0-liter gasoline engine that generates 326 HP (240 kW) and 322 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. This allows the vehicle to get to an electronically-limited maximum speed of 155 mph (250 km/h). The standard 6-speed manual transmission is also available. The car will reach 62 mph in 5 seconds that is 0.2s slower than the automatic model.
The 2014 BMW M235i is 72mm longer, 32mm wider and has a 30mm longer wheelbase than the previous 1-Series Coupe. This way the trunk capacity has been raised to 390 liters (13.7 cubic feet). This is of less importance for the people that wish to buy the vehicle. Especially for them, it’s good to tell that the M235i will be available in dealerships in the next months.
