BMW Z4 Roadster sDrive18i Edition

Bavarian carmaker BMW has offered styling improvements on the Z4 hardtop roadster, but it is quite hard to notice. To be more precise, these refer to the 3D design of the LED light rings on the headlamps, but this is not all. The new model also features the BMW lettering on the LED accent lights on top, a newly designed tapered surround for the side indicators and to transfer the output to the road, the engineers have provided 17- and 18-inch alloy wheels. In terms of paint packages, know that the new BMW Z4 received a new Hyper Orange package that includes Mineral Grey metallic, Glacier Silver metallic and Valencia Orange metallic. For the interior, the model got black leather and Alcantara with orange accent stitches, stripes and door panels, but also high-gloss black for the door opener and the gearshift or selector lever.

If we turn our attention towards the equipment, we will find high-gloss black surrounds for the central air vents and the iDrive control system that folds the Control Display, but only on models that feature the optional navigation system. Do that you know, in the US the 2014 model will be equipped with the same 2.0-liter 4-cylinder engine capable of generating 240 horsepower and with two 3.0-liter inline-six power plants capable of producing 300 horsepower for the sDrive35i and 335 horsepower for the sDrive35is.

For the European market, the Bavarians have presented a new version, a new entry level model called the sDrive18i. The BMW Z4 Roadster sDrive18i receives power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder petrol unit capable of generating 154 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. All this output can be transferred to the wheels through a 6-speed manual transmission offered as standard or through an 8-speed one offered as optional. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of 221 km/h. The model will be revealed to the public during the 2013 Detroit Motor Show.
