Cadillac carmaker made a great impression with its new model at the Nurburgring in Germany. We are talking about the new 2014 CTS midsize luxury sedan that comes with a CTS VSport. Just for information, the 2014 CTS Vsport equipped with a twin-turbo engine and 8-speed transmission managed to record a lap time of 8:14:10 which means it is 6.0 seconds faster than the first generation CTS-V recorded 10 years ago with a larger V8 unit. All CTS suspension packages have been validated and are capable of handling the extreme conditions and unlimited speeds of Autobahn driving.
The engineers have equipped the new models with track calibration of the steering system, shock absorbers, chassis controls and power train cooling. The Nurburgring track is considered to be the most-demanding course in the world in terms of vehicle validation. In comparison to its predecessor, the third-generation CTS is one inch lower, five inches longer and has more than 200 pounds lighter. It also has more horsepower and greater structural stiffness. The engineers tried to develop a model capable of delivering a driving experience that combines sport-tuned handling with world-class comfort. The new CTS come with Magnetic Ride Control and electronic limited slip differential that monitors the rear-wheel rotation to ensure optimal handling depending on the road conditions.
In terms of price, the new model will cost $46.025 including the $925destination charges. The specialists also offer optional packages like Luxury, Performance and Premium. When it comes to engine there are several options available, a 2.0-liter turbocharged, 4-cylinder or a 3.6-liter naturally aspiratedV6 unit with a rear- or an all-wheel drive unit. The CTS Vsport will have a starting price of $59.995 and will be equipped with an 8-speed transmission to transfer the power to the wheels.
