A few days ago we were struck by the news that Caterham is for sale. Despite this, here we are facing a special edition of the Caterham Seven, called the Kamui Kobayashi. A Caterham is everything but an ordinary car. Caterham Seven, as all English things, is a perfect creation, the supreme vehicle. The company now introduces this special edition designed by the one and only Kamui Kobayasi, one of the Formula 1 drivers.
The Caterham Seven Kamui Kobayasi edition is limited to ten units each being priced at 6,000,000 YEN (including local taxes). The Kamui Kobayashi limited edition is exclusively destined for the Japanese market. The Caterham Seven 250 R Kamui Kobayashi is powered by a 1.6 Ford Sigma engine that outputs 125bhp. This allows the sporty vehicle to accelerate from zero to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 5.9 seconds. It can go up to a maximum speed of 122 mph. The engine transfers power via a six-speed manual transmission, a differential and a rear wheel drive system.
The Caterham Seven Kamui Kobayasi edition is distinguished by high-gloss black paint with matt black sport stripes, a 10 badge on its nose, and front wings and rear wing protectors that have a green carbon finish. Kobayashi's Seven is a single seater. The passenger side features an aluminum tonneau cover. It also features a single-sided rollover hoop fixed to the rear bulkhead. The car is equipped with 13-inch diamond cut black wheels and a polished chrome exhaust system. On the inside there are a green carbon fiber dashboard, a carbon sport bucket seat and a Takata 4-point harness, as well as special gauge inlays, an anodized green gear knob and anodized green key. Take a look at the vehicle and imagine a ride behind its steering.
