It is now that Chevrolet is unveiling the 2014 Silverado 1500 fill-size all-new pickup. According to the specialists, during the manufacturing process they had in mind to make it the strongest, smartest and most capable Chevy Silverado ever made and they did, partially thanks to the 95 years of truck heritage. The 2014 model receives different updates and the most obvious refers to the three powerful and efficient EcoTec3 engines. Of course there are also a revised steering, suspension and brakes. The model will be part of the 3-truck portfolio and so joins the Silverado 2500 and 3500 HD pickup, the ultimate tools for towing and hauling. The carmaker also plans to develop an all-new Colorado midsize pickup that will be very fuel efficient and capable. The 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 was designed to meet the exact requirements of full-size truck customers and to improve the reputation Chevy has for building the most dependable full-size trucks.
Its new design is more muscular, more aerodynamic and also more functional. To get this result, the engineers have provided a twin-port grille, full-width bumper and dual power dome hood. The roof and tailgate spoiler were shaped in the wind tunnel for reduced drag and the new front end is engineered to improve sealing for more efficient cooling. The new inlaid doors reduce wind noise for a quieter cab.
Under the hood it hides a V6 engine and two V8 ones and all incorporate direct fuel injection, cylinder deactivation and continuously variable valve timing. To be more precise, we are talking about a new 4.3-liter V6 engine, a new 5.3-liter V8 designed for more power and a new 6.2-liter V8 which is in fact, the most capable engine in any light-duty pickup. The chassis features revised front and rear suspension and wider wheels which provide a more comfortable ride and more confident handling. In terms of safety it comes equipped with Lane Departure Warning with an Active Safety Seat, Front and Rear Park Assist, Forward Collision Alert and a lot more. Its price will be revealed a bit later.
