The Chevrolet Sonic has been along the history a very successful car manufactured by the General Motors Company. Chevrolet-branded vehicles are sold in most automotive markets worldwide, with plenty of success. And the Chevy lovers from all over the planet are waiting breathless for every move the company makes. The recently ended SEMA Motor Show hosted the debut of the Chevrolet Sonic Dusk. However, Chevy is ready to introduce another vehicle in its lineup, the Chevrolet Sonic RS.
The Chevrolet Sonic RS is powered by an Ecotec 1.4L turbo engine that generates 138 horsepower (103 kW) and 148 lb-ft of torque (200 Nm). This works linked to either a six-speed manual transmission or an automatic one. EPA-estimated fuel economy ratings are 27 mpg city and 34 mpg highway with the manual transmission. The vehicle will be available in three colour schemes: Black Granite Metallic, Silver Ice Metallic or Summit White, all with Jet Black leather interiors. As a bonus, this Sonic version will be the first model in Chevy’s family to be equipped with Siri Eyes Free integration.
The Chevrolet Sonic RS features a sport-tuned suspension and lowered ride height. It also receives a front fascia which contains deep air dam design. There are some vertical intakes at the edges and fog lamps, too. The inside is a rather sporty one. It features aluminum sport pedals, three-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel and some front bucket seats featuring red RS accents. Technology is not something to neglect at nowadays vehicles, so Chevrolet placed a BringGo navigation app, which comes together with 3-D maps with lane suggestions and live traffic data. The Sonic RS will be available from the beginning of 2014 and will have a starting price of $20,530 USD.
