At the 2014 edition of the Auto China that will take place in Beijing, we will have the opportunity to see for the first time the production version of the Denza electric. This model is the result Daimler AG and BYD obtained as part of their new agreement. This special venture between the two is called Shenzhen BYD Daimler New Technology and the specialists dedicate it to electric vehicles alone. Just to make sure that no one is being taken by surprise with the introduction of the new model, the BDNT specialists are testing the pre-production version of the model. Until now, the Denza has only been tested in inappropriate conditions, so only during the summer, but things are about to change, as the carmaker will test it now in the North-Eastern part of China where cold feels like home there.
The specialists that work in the plant in Shenzhen are also doing different tests that will help them obtain the safest most reliable electric vehicle, according to terms. All this trouble is for the Chinese market. We had the opportunity to see it for the first time as a preview at the 2012 Beijing Auto Show. The model might also have as base the Mercedes-Benz B-Class Electric Drive, as per the photos we have in the photo gallery, but we might be wrong. We will have the opportunity to see this new model sometime in 2014 in the Chinese capital, in the first Denza dealership that will be opened there.
The first dealerships responsible for the distribution and service of Denza EV are: Lei Shing Hong Auto, Pangda Automobile Trade Co. and also Zhongsheng Group Holdings Limited. So that you know, Mercedes-Benz is no longer the only carmaker to develop a separate brand for electric vehicles.
