Fiat announced their plans to introduce the Freemont Black Code and Panda 4X4 Antarctica during Frankfurt 65th International Motor Show.
The auto is a rebranded version of the Dodge Journey Blacktop edition and will be available for purchase early 2014. Details regarding the price will be announced on a date closer to actually launching the model. The vehicle features tinted headlights, a gloss black grille and 19 inch alloy wheels. Notable changes made to the interior are very limited, however the car comes with a premium audio system, an infotainment system with a generous 8.4 inch display and heated leather seats.
The Freemont Black Code comes with two available engines. The 3.6 liter Pentasar V6 gives 280 HP (205 kW) while the 2.0 liter Multijet produces 170 HP (125 kW). The six speed automatic transmission and all wheel drive come as a standard on the petrol version. On the other hand the front wheel drive is a standard for the diesel version.
Regarding the Panda 4X4, it will celebrate its 30th anniversary at the Frankfurt Motor Show through the debut of the new Panda Antartica. This way, the manufacturer wishes to continue the success of the 4X4 concept launched in 1938, which generated more than 400.000 units sold.
The vehicle comes with a height adjustable driver`s seat as a standard, featuring orange and grey upholstery. The passenger section features a 3 seater rear seat with folding backrests designed for more comfort. Furthermore, it brings the `torque on demand` system which activates automatically when needed, giving a plus of control in any driving situation and the Electronic Stability Control system with Electronic Locking Differential function as a standard. To ensure the highest level of adherence on any surface, the model benefits from specifically designed 175/65 R15 84T M+S winter tyres offered as a standard.
The Fiat Panda Antartica features the diesel 1.3 Multijet II 75 HP as well as the 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 85 HP both fitted with the Start&Stop system.
