American carmaker Ford developed the next generation Transit Connect and revealed it for the first time in Amsterdam. The incredible new model will be available on the US market only before the end of next year. A few days ago, some spy shots were revealed and at a closer look we saw a lot of elements borrowed from the Ford Focus and the Fiesta when it comes to design. The new comer features smaller headlamps and more obvious fog lamps that in the end create the very nice front end. At the rear we can see slimmer taillights and also the carmaker used a more traditional lift-gate.
The model was built under the One Ford strategy for Europe, but it will not only be sold here, but on the North American market as well, but also in different other all around the globe. By introducing this vehicle, Ford it making a big step towards reaching its goal, to redesign all vehicles built for the European lineup before the end on next year. This new range represents almost 50 years of experience in creating market-leading commercial vans. The new Transit Connect is available in a choice of short and long wheelbase versions this way it will offer European and North American customers the most flexible and functional load box in the segment.
Its power train has the lowest CO2 emission level and delivers best in class fuel economy. For Europe, the lineup will include downsized diesel and petrol engines and the North Americans will receive a tailored range of gasoline power trains. On the inside, the new Ford offers incredible design and includes interior technologies and driver assistance elements. As we mentioned above, deliveries of the new Ford Transit Connect will start only next year, but it is available on European markets now.
