General Motors have plans to introduce the GMC Sierra at the North American International Auto Show, but until then, the Americans have decided to provide some details on the matter. The 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 full-size pickup is the most powerful and most refined truck in the history of the brand. Under the hood, the model comes with three options, three all-new EcoTec3 engines. The model also features a fully updated cabin with available next-generation IntelliLink connectivity. This is the pickup with most standard features ever.
In terms of engines, the options are a 4.3-liter V6, a 5.3-liter V8 and a 6.2-liter V8. Each features direct injection as standard, continuously variable valve timing and Active Fuel Management. This efficient output is the result of 10 million hours of sophisticated computer modeling. The first engine mentioned above will offer improved torque and towing capacity. The best fuel efficient V8 is the new 5.3-liter EcoTec3 that comes with important updates. The last one was developed to provide great capability. So that you know, all three engines use lightweight aluminum blocks and heads and are mated with durable 6-speed automatic transmissions. The car uses aluminum for some suspension components. Why? Well, the engineers wanted to offer extra rigidity and weight saving.
To handle the power, the engineers have offered strong brakes. The 2014 GMC Sierra features four-wheel disc brakes with Duralife brake rotors. It also uses an electric power steering. For the interior, designers have chosen premium materials, attention to detail and also purposeful technology for the new cabin of the Sierra. The model has new front-hinged rear doors with outside pull handles at the rear, providing improved access in tight parking spaces. In the end, we can admit with a lot of confidence that the 2014 GMC Sierra is quieter, stronger and more dynamic than any other truck.
