The 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has been finally presented. After some teased pictures, the Japanese model is fully exposed to the public. The 2014 Hybrid can be found from this October in the dealerships’ yards. As a premiere this is first Honda hybrid to be assembled in Marysville, Ohio.
Compared to the Accord Plug-in Hybrid desired to be "the most fuel-efficient sedan in America," but also having a too high price for ordinary clients, the standard 2014 Honda Accord Hybrid has a more interesting design and also an affordable price. The Accord Hybrid is fitted with the same feature styling found on the Accord Sedan but gets extra hybrid badging and blue-accented grille and light lenses, LED daytime running lights, a unique wheel design and a decklid spoiler.
The model shares with the Plug-In version the same two-motor hybrid system that consists of a 137 bhp (102 kW) 2.0-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine and an updated variant of the Plug-In 141 bhp (105 kW) electric motor that now delivers 166 bhp (124 kW). Using a two-motor SPORT HYBRID Intelligent Multi Mode Drive powertrain the 2014 Accord Hybrid saves fuel by running through three different driving modes – EV Drive, Hybrid Drive and Engine Drive.
The Japanese brand is proud to announce that the new Honda Accord Hybrid is anticipated to obtain a class-leading mid-size sedan EPA fuel economy rating of 49/45/47 mpg (city/highway/combined). Besides the next-generation Advanced Compatibility Engineering™ (ACE™) body structure and the new SmartVent front-side airbags, the 2014 Accord Hybrid has a high tech display that offers instant fuel saving and energy flow information. Safety is a priority for Honda and includes blind-spot display, Lane Departure Warning (LDW) and Forward Collision Warning (FCW). For the NCAP scores the new Accord Hybrid is expected to get the best safety ratings such as 5-Star Overall Vehicle Score and a TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS).
