Jaguar specialists thought that their 2014 XJ needs some more updates and this is why they have decided to come up with new ideas which have been applied in the end. Here we are talking about comfort, technology and enhanced rear cabin luxury elements. Under the hood, the new Jaguar XJ hides a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder i4 turbocharged petrol engine; diesel and supercharged petrol 3.0-liter V6 engine and last, but not least with a 5.0-liter V8 petrol unit. One of them is normally aspirated and three are supercharged. The 3.0-liter V6 unit offers power to the All-Wheel Drive system which monitors grip levels and driver input to provide maximum traction in all conditions.
The next one, the 2.0-liter i4 turbocharged petrol engine comes with the Intelligent Stop / Start system capable of generating 240 PS and 340 Nm of torque thanks to direct fuel-injection and variable timing of both the intake and exhaust camshafts. To transfer all the output to the wheels the engineers have offered an 8-speed automatic transmission which offers a broad spread of ratios. The models that have a long wheelbase come with enhanced rear cabin luxury elements which include airline style reclining seats with massage function, increased headroom and a lot more. There is also an entertainment system that has been enhanced with a Rear Seat Entertainment package that comes with two hi-resolution touch screens and optional premium Meridian Reference Audio System with Conversation Assist.
The R version of the XJ comes with bespoke chassis and aerodynamic developments to create the most focused, agile and responsive XJR ever. The 5.0-liter V8 supercharged unit is capable of generating 550 PS and 680 Nm of torque. This output enables the car to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and to reach an electronically limited top speed of 174 mph. The specialists have done a really great job.
