We all have to admit that carmakers have a very difficult job hiding their new models. It is hard for them to keep them under wraps until they are ready to present them as they would want to, well organized under the powerful lights of an auto show or even in photos or videos in a special location.
Let us stop for a moment and take a look at the 2014 Jeep Cherokee. The model was caught undisguised and its name was not even been confirmed officially yet, but even so, here it is. The clandestine photos that were take inside of the factory were in fact very blurry and were not capable to show off the radical new contour of the crossover in the same sort of flattering light that Jeep would have preferred for the new model. Even so, in the photo gallery below you will have the possibility to see four images of the new model. These actually confirm the name of the model that replaces the Liberty, the Jeep Cherokee. The carmaker has released only a few shots with the new nose, but not the profile or the rear view. Even so, the pictures indicate the best look yet at seems to indicate what is likely to be one of the most polarizing designs to come out next year. The new model has a black seven-slot grille that completes the aggressive split-lens headlamp treatment of the Cherokee.
Unfortunately the carmaker did not reveal any information on the price or on the power train, but different rumors tell us it will ride atop an Alfa Romeo-derived platform that Dodge Dart also uses. This might mean the new model will carry front- and all-wheel drive variants and 4-cylinder power. The new model will arrive in showroom in the 3rd quarter of this year and will even be 45% more efficient in comparison to its predecessor.
