Jeep was busy lately developing two new models, the 2014 Jeep Compass and Patriot. We talked a bit about the second one and now, let us turn out entire focus on the Compass.
The 2014 model comes with a new 6-speed PowerTech automatic transmission, but the engineers and designers have also provided a refreshed exterior and interior design. The fuel consumption reaches 30 mpg on the highway. Just like the Patriot, the Jeep Compass also comes with more than 30 safety and security features. Here we have to mention standard front-seat-mounted side air bags, side-curtain air bags for all rows, Hill-Start Assist, electronic stability program, electronic roll mitigation and 4-wheel anti-lock brakes and ParkView rear backup camera.
In terms of technology, the new model features Uconnect media center with iPod interface, SiriusXM Radio, navigation with SiriusXM Travel Link, power sunroof and a lot of other elements common with the 2014 Jeep Patriot. In terms of standard features we have to remind air conditioning, power windows, power locks, keyless entry, fog lamps, cruise control, electronic stability control and outside temperature display. The list continues with front driver and passenger active head restraints, anti-lock disk brakes, front-seat-mounted side air bags and illuminated cup holders. To transfer the output to the road it uses a 6F24 6-speed PowerTech automatic transmission. This is fully electronic and designed for fuel efficiency and improved performance.
Designers have offered an update in terms of exterior and the interior has also been tastefully upgraded with accents and trim that all customers will definitely appreciate. Now the model is available in three drive train configurations: front-wheel-drive system, Freedom Drive I and Freedom Drive II. As standard, the model receives power from a 2.0-liter World Gas Engine capable of generating 158 horsepower and 191 Nm of torque. The carmaker will offer it in dealerships starting with the second quarter of 2013.
